Allen Memorial Hospital (AMH) is presently
a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital. The facility has a full Emergency
Suite, two birthing rooms, eleven acute beds, and fourteen long-term beds
plus Grand County Hospice. The AHM medical staff of eleven
includes two internal medicine physicians, an ENT physician, an orthopedic
surgeon, general surgeon as well as the services of about a dozen visiting
specialists. The Hospital has undergone a number of expansions over the
years providing CT Scanner Services, MRI services, Mammography,
Ultrasound, Cardiac Treadmill testing and Echocardiograms. The Emergency
Department has coverage 24/7. Allen Memorial Hospital is a private not
for profit 501 (c) (3) corporation governed by Moab Valley Healthcare,
Inc. Board of Directors and is managed by Rural Health Management
Corporation of Nephi, Utah. Currently, the Board and Administration are
involved in a fundraising campaign for a new $25 million dollar Moab
Regional Medical Center. The new facility will include a hospital,
long-term care facility and physician offices. A retail pharmacy is
planned as well as space for physical therapy.
AMH
has taken the lead role in community health awareness and health education
programs through its sponsorship of health screening and related
orientation programs and through its efforts to coordinate the delivery of
health services with other local health agencies and groups.
