Vision,
Mission, and Values
RHMC’s
Vision is to be a leader in the delivery of quality, financially
viable, appropriate health care services in small non-urban and rural
communities.
It
is the Mission of RHMC to facilitate access to quality local
health care services in rural and small non-urban communities in the
best private, not-for-profit tradition. We accomplish this through:
-
Effective
and proven leadership;
-
The
application of appropriate financial and management resources;
-
The
development of effective educational and advocacy initiatives;
-
Networking
with other health care facilities of similar size, needs, and concerns;
and
-
Ongoing
community involvement and support. At
all times and in all situations, the dignity of the individual and sincere
concern for our patients and their families, our employees, and the
communities we serve will be our guiding values.
A
cornerstone of RHMC’s commitment to its Vision and Mission is its
conviction that all employees at each of our affiliated hospitals and
at the corporate office share the common objective of providing only
the highest quality services to all of our various
"clients". This can only be accomplished through the
consistent application of our Values in all that we do.
Accordingly, we are committed to
-
Honoring
the worth of the individual;
-
Optimizing
the opportunities and benefits that are made available through their
diversities as well as their commonalties;
-
Providing
employees and colleagues with a satisfying, rewarding, and safe work
environment;
-
Always
maintaining excellent corporate citizenship; and
Managing
our organization in a manner that maintains uniform strength while
allowing associated individual hospitals the independence necessary to
maximize innovation and efficiency to effectively meet the specific health
care needs of their respective communities.

Model
The RHMC model is
based on the premise that there are "economies of scale" to be
realized through the sharing of services, staff, and other operational
elements among multiple facilities. By spreading the cost for these over a
broader base, programs and services become available to hospitals
otherwise denied such benefits due to financial and/or logistical
limitations. This model has been expanded over the years to include an
increased number of services and a broader application of more
sophisticated technologies.
The services and
programs available to RHMC associates are priced such that total fees
assessed for the arrangement are much less than the value of the services
provided if purchased on the open market. This ensures the "value
added" nature of the affiliation.
RHMC
believes that people who choose to live in rural areas deserve the highest
quality health care that available resources will allow. The challenges to
providing quality, cost-effective health care are many and varied,
particularly in a rural setting. RHMC has determined that the best way to
address such challenges is through working in partnership with the
citizens, leaders, and health care providers of those communities served.
Through this simple yet effective model of collaborative resource sharing,
RHMC has enjoyed considerable success in promoting and enhancing
appropriate health care services in all markets served. We celebrate the
fact that each community is unique, with different needs, wants,
expectations AND opportunities for progress. It is just such diversity
that provides the fertile field requisite to continued growth for all
involved.
